Family Works Northern provides a range of strength-based practice child and family services, programmes and community development initiatives located in eleven community-based centres and numerous schools in the Upper North Island.

Our Taupo based service is seeking a qualified and experienced counsellor to engage with children and their families and work with them towards achieving positive and lasting differences in their lives.

We are looking for someone to commence as soon as possible!

To be successful in this role we need to know you :

Are familiar with strength-based practice principles

Are competent in counselling theories

Are competent in working with families affected by multiple issues including domestic violence and child abuse

Are able to engage with families where signs of safety are an issue

Experienced in working individually with children, with families, and in group settings

Enjoy group facilitation

Thrive in a busy multi-disciplinary team

Show exemplary professional practice

Have outstanding communication and people skills

Have excellent family support,

Knowledge of tikanga Maori an advantage. assessment and counselling abilities.

Membership with the NZAC or registered with SWRB

PSN supports vaccination for the wellbeing of our communities.
