    What will you do?

    We are seeking an experienced, full-time Site based Health and Safety Coordinator to work on our project in Lynfield - Murray Halberg Retirement Village.

    You will report to the site based Health and Safety Advisor, and support our commitment to a positive safety culture. You will assist in driving a positive health and safety culture.

    One that actively promotes healthy and safe environment for everybody on site.

    You will :

  • Foster a positive health, safety and wellbeing environment, looking out for yourself and others in line with our 'We do it safely or not at all' culture.
  • Driving this by working in a collaborative way and encouraging the process of reporting and resolving issues

  • Promote a work environment where risks are both identified and controlled, by engaging closely with all workers, sub-contractors and other personnel.
  • Identifying, reinforcing and engaging with workers on positive behaviors and actions

  • Assist with the development and implementation of health and safety processes based on company policies, relevant regulations and codes of practice
  • Use maintain, manage and administer health and safety systems and tools based on company policies
  • Support and assist the H&S Advisor to review sub-contractors Site-Specific Safety Plans and risk assessment documentation to ensure they are of high quality
  • Work with and observe / monitor that contractors are completing works in accordance with their risk assessments and assess the right controls are in place to complete tasks safely
  • Conduct regular conduct site walks to foster positive relationships with the team, supporting in identifying risks and supporting with implementing controls to prevent incident or injury.
  • Involving other members of the site leadership team in these site walks where practical

  • Work with the site leadership team to make sure appropriate actions are taken following incidents and near misses. Ensure that all incidents and near misses are captured in the electronic health and safety system and assisting with investigations
  • Carry out site inductions and using these opportunities to positively engage with people from the start
  • Work with the site leadership team to make sure that appropriate action is taken following relevant events. Ensure that all relevant events are captured in the electronic health and safety system and properly investigated, then making sure that the lessons learnt are implemented
  • Who are you?

    The successful applicant will possess good communication skills, the ability to influence, persuade and guide people and an eye for detail.

    You are reliable, self-motivated and enjoy managing a busy workload.

  • H&S experience within the construction industry
