Reporting to the Pou Whakahaere ā Ture - Legal Counsel you will become part of a small team. The team consists of two lawyers and two privacy advisors (the Senior Advisor and an Advisor).
You will work closely with a range of teams within Stats NZ who handle data, provide access to data and broker data supplies.
You will also be the Privacy Officer for Stats NZ.
Stats NZ has a busy and interesting work programme; with an increased focus on working with and delivering for Māori, delivering corporate services collaboratively and simply, and being transparent about what we're doing.
As a Kaitohutohu Matua Tūmataiti - Senior Privacy Advisor, you will be :
Leading Stats NZ's privacy programme and working closely with our Privacy Advisor
Establishing and maintaining a network of relevant stakeholders and collaborators.
Providing timely quality advice which is relevant to its recipients and is influential.
Providing healthy challenge and thought leadership; growing the levels of understanding of Privacy by Design and respect for privacy.
This role is a full-time (37.5hrs per week) permanent position based primarily in the Wellington office. Working from home, flexibility to accommodate life / work balance and virtual collaboration are also normal parts of life at Stats NZ.
Stats NZ is open to considering an appointment for less than full time hours and / or variation to working week or fortnight norms.
