  • A unique opportunity exists to join the Ministry’s Emergency Management and Business Continuity Group.

    The Senior Advisor Business Continuity is responsible for the implementation and management of the Ministry’s Business Continuity policy and framework.

    In this role you will be required to provide effective specialist advice, direction and leadership to ensure that the business continuity programme positions the Ministry well to respond to business disruption thereby enhancing its resilience.

    This role will help embed the Business Continuity framework into MSD through the development and implementation of the business continuity lifecycle, which would include programmes such as continuous improvement, quality assurance, validation, education and awareness, monitoring and reporting.

    Identifying and managing business continuity risks and their impact on BCEM policy and BC framework will be a key part of this role along with engagement with business units to uplift resilience and awareness.

    The Senior Advisor Business Continuity would also be responsible for engagement with business continuity practitioners in the government sector and wider business community to ensure the Ministry of Social Development is current and up to date with modern business continuity processes.

    You will also represent the Ministry on business continuity related projects or working groups (such as the across government business continuity group, business continuity working group).

    Ideally you will have :

  • Significant experience and understanding of business continuity frameworks and systems
  • The ability to inspire and influence those around you
  • Experience in working with and establishing credibility with senior leaders, ability to turn strategic thinking into operational practice
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and in writing)
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the key behaviours that underpin our working relationship within Service Delivery. These are;

  • This is a specialist role for a proven high performer in this field. The successful candidate will have strong people skills coupled with a responsive, proactive and pragmatic approach.

    The role also includes the requirement to be available or on call as part of a shared duty roster.

    Salary for this position is $94,834 to $115,908 depending on skills and experience.
