About us : Harbour Hospice is the only specialist, palliative care provider for families living in the Hibiscus Coast, North Shore and Warkworth / Wellsford communities.
We provide compassionate, free care working primarily with patients, families and carers in their homes, and within our three hospice sites.
Our bespoke services include medical care, spiritual support, physiotherapy, social activities and more, with an emphasis on helping people live every moment in whatever way is important to them.
About the role : Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer, the Management Accountant will ensure the smooth running of our finance function.
This will be achieved through the production of month end accounts, overseeing the AP and AR processes, management of fixed-assets and working closely with our managers to ensure they are equipped to effectively manage their budgets and use financial information to inform decision-making.
This role works closely with both the Assistant Accountant and Chief Financial Officer to provide assistance during absence and / or peak periods.
Who are we looking for?We have a complex accounting structure and are looking for someone who has proven experience working within a complex accounting environment and is able to proactively find solutions and more efficient ways of working.
As this role will be interfacing with our managers significantly, you must have the ability to get alongside people, influence, educate and help translate financial information.
About you : As a Chartered Accountant (or qualified by experience) you will have at least 3 years accounting and generalist finance experience.
You will also have;Working knowledge of financial management, management accounting and payroll software programmes (MYOB EXO, Sybiz or equivalent)Solid experience undertaking and participating in audit activities, management accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledgerKeen analytic, organisation and problem-solving skills which allows for data interpretation versus simple reportingPeople focussed with the ability to communicate with a varied audience of finance and non-finance savvy people, whilst also being comfortable working autonomously.
