The Ghella Abergeldie Joint Venture is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join the TBM team on the Central Interceptor Project.

The Central Interceptor is a wastewater tunnel that will run between the Māngere Wastewater Treatment Plant and Grey Lynn.

The main tunnel will run underground for 14.7 kilometres and will be at a depth of between 15 and 110 metres. It will cross the Manukau Harbour at about 15 metres below the seabed.

Along the route it will connect to the existing wastewater network, which will divert flows and overflows into the tunnel to reduce overflows.

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage TBM activities to ensure project is implemented in accordance with plans, design and specifications.

Some of the things you’ll get in involved in : Assist with the preparation of safety, quality and environmental management plans, risk sssessment, CEPs, ITPs and Safe Work Method StatementMonitor works to ensure that they are carried out in a safe manner in line with all relevant designs, specifications, methodologiesMonitoring site activities, ensuing safety, environmental & quality management outcomes are in line with GAJV objectives and industry best practiceTunnel segmental lining quality assurance including segment inspections and ring build qualityAttending regular meetings with the client’s inspector and reporting / updating procedures as requiredFollowing and reporting on overall TBM operating parameters and shift reportEnsuring excavation is carried out in accordance with the operational instruction sheetRecording the critical path activities of the shift on the TBM data sheetLiaising with members of the TBM crew and distribute information as required The successful candidate will have : Degree qualification in civil, structural or mechanical engineering, construction management or equivalentMinimum 2 years’ experience working as a Site Engineer working on civil infrastructure projectsMinimum of 1 year work experience on an EPB or Slurry TBM projectThe ability to do shift workProficient in MS Project and excelPositive and pro-active approach toward teamworkSound planning and organisational skillsProgressive thinking and robust project administration capabilitiesCommunication that is clear, concise and easily understood both in written and verbal formIf you are looking to make a positive impact, be part of a legacy project that has wide reaching benefits for Auckland and the community then we want to hear from you.
