  • Wellington based role with flexible working optionsTe tūranga The roleThis is an opportunity to work within our Project Management Office (PMO) providing advice and support services across our investment portfolio of projects and programmes and play a key role in the running of the day to day activities within the PMO.
  • As we move through a period of transformation, and a focus is applied to lifting our capability and maturity this will be a challenging but rewarding role working with a team of very committed people.

    You will be at the front of embedding and improving project management practices across our portfolio of change. Reporting directly, and deputising for our PMO Lead, you will establish yourself as one of the Banks lead technical specialist ensuring development and ongoing management of optimised portfolios.

    The Senior Advisor provides expert project management advice to a range of stakeholders within the Bank, including Business Owners, Sponsors and governance groups to support the successful delivery of projects.

    This includes contributing to, supporting, and looking for opportunities to continuously innovate and improve our project and portfolio management frameworks and providing advice to projects.

    Then this role is for you. We have a busy and exciting roadmap of activities that will lift the thinking, reporting and governance to a true portfolio level.

    You will be able to answer the question what does this mean for the wider portfolio when making any decision or recommendation.You'll bring :

  • Proven, extensive experience in portfolio management or advisory in a large complex organisation
  • Ideally you will have qualifications in MoP, P3O Project Office, Agile, Management of Value or Management of Benefits
  • Extensive knowledge of project and programme management practices and methodologies
  • Experience in defining investment and prioritisation frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with a focus on collaboration and partnership
