Māori Workforce AdvisorFull-time Fixed Term to December 2022 Nau mai haere mai come and join the Māori Health Team as the Māori Workforce Advisor (fixed term) as part of the Northern Region's COVID-19 response programme being run by the Northern Region Health Coordination Centre (NRHCC).
Reporting to the Māori BAU Operations & Performance Lead, you will possess the ability to engage across all hierarchical levels of the DHBs, Māori and iwi-led providers.
You will ensure alignment across the public health response to equity principles and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. This means you will develop appropriate resources for use by DHB's, Iwi and Māori providers as required and evaluate the current resources and coordinate a regular implementation audit.
Given the high proportion of Māori people impacted by COVID-19, a strong understanding of Māori health equity approaches and te ao Māori models of care will be key to this role.
You will need to work closely with key stakeholders, including Māori and iwi-led health providers and communities, so you will need a good understanding of te ao Māori (Māori world perspectives) and demonstrated ability to speak te reo Māori (Māori language).
