The City Rail Link (CRL) Project is the country’s largest transport infrastructure project. Its 3.45km twin tunnels will transform the dead-end station at Britomart, deliver two new stations at Aotea and Karangahape and reconnect to the existing Western Line at a redeveloped Mt Eden station.
The Link Alliance is a consortium of local and international construction companies responsible for delivering the tunnelling, stations and the systems contracts.
These companies include Vinci Construction Grands Project, Downer NZ Ltd, Soletanche Bachy International NZ Limited, WSP Opus (NZ) Limited, AECOM New Zealand Limited and Tonkin + Taylor Limited.
The purpose of this role is to ensure works are completed to the satisfaction of the Link Alliance and its stakeholders, and all targets (quality, safety, wellbeing, and productivity) are met.
The successful candidate will be looking after work crews on the Aotea Station. This will be a combination of Civil & Structures works that includes Insitu concrete, precast construction, Structural Steel Installation, TW Erection, reo fixing, excavation and shotcrete.
Responsibilities include but not limited to
Organise, direct and monitor day to day operations. Prepare and present daily safety prestarts to your workers and subcontractors.
Arrange, direct and monitor activities of direct employs and subcontractors, to ensure their work meets project objectives and requirements and is carried out safely.
Train and develop your teams, support apprentices and help with their studies.
Undertake Quality inspections with the engineer and Supervisor during & after construction of large concrete slabs, walls, roof slabs, temporary struts and walers.
Involved in developing 5 week look ahead programme, including forward planning of labour and plant resources.
Ensure all plant under your control is presented, maintained and operated in a professional, safe, efficient manner and complies with all Safety, Quality Assurance and Environmental requirements.

To be successful in this role
Must have 5 years of successful experience as a Foreman in the heavy civil construction industry.
Essential to have proven experience with responsibility and accountability for staff, plant and return on investment
Formal qualifications are preferred (Carpentry / Formwork) but not essential. As a Foreman you must have :
Excellent verbal and good written communication skills
Ability to influence with positive safe outcomes
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to drive projects and complete within specified time frames
Demonstrated leadership behaviours that empower others.
