In an exciting period of transformation and growth, Auckland Musuem is seeking innovative Kaiako to deliver our learning and public programmes (as created by our Learning Specialists and Public Programmers) for ākonga.
You will empower learners to engage with Auckland Museum's collections and exhibitions by faciliating meaningful learning experiences and programmes.
You are a passionate and talented educator who is creative, innovative and skilled in supporting learning inside or outside of the classroom -
as well as delivering public programmes in public settings such as festivals. You are confident in working with groups of ākonga of all ages, and you have particular experience delivering in either a Māori or Pacific medium and / or a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) context.
You're an advocate for learning and you're passionate about delivering education and public programmes. You're a lifelong learner with a growth mindset who enjoys creative problem solving.
You're a team player with great ideas and the skills to bring them to life.
Good pronouciation of Te Reo Māori and experience with integrating Mātauranga Māori into education and public programmes is essential.
Experience and passion for engaging learners in STEM education is desirable.
The available positions are on casual basis. Casual staff will be rostered on an 'as required' basis to help Auckland Musuem deliver a dynamic programme for diverse audiences onsite, online, and beyond our walls.
Working on an 'as required' basis could involve working weekends and public holidays as required.
A varied and interesting position, you will be part of a team of Kaiako who inspire ākonga across all subjects and year levels.
