We want you to join one of our nine Auckland based engineering teams.

The Role

As an Intermediate Java Developer, you will join one of our software engineering teams and contribute to building modern solutions that embrace some of the latest technologies to meet the current and future needs of our customers.

You’ll be working with teams to :

  • Develop products and features the empower customers to manage and optimise their fleets, and to keep drivers safe on the roads
  • Build solutions that scale to handle data transmitted from hundreds of thousands of vehicles and devices
  • Maintain high standards of security, accuracy and reliability in technology and software solutions
  • Promote DevOps you build it, you run it!
  • About You

    You are an experienced developer looking to move to the next level in an environment that will challenge you and give you opportunities to work with great technologies.

    You will have an in-depth understanding of web technologies, end-to-end systems, development methodologies and standards.

    Ideally, you'll have a successful track record in designing and building well-architected, highly available, scalable and cloud-based applications.

    You’ll also have a good understanding, and preferably experience, of continuous integration and delivery.

    Any additional front-end experience with JavaScript and React would be an advantage.

  • Three+ years' experience as a software developer, with at least two years’ Java
  • Competent in designing and developing software within a micro services framework using RESTful APIs (Swagger), JMS and RDBMS data services (Postgres)
  • Proven AWS experience (EC2, Lambdas, API Gateway)
  • Experience with REST services using JSON
  • Knowledge of common design patterns and when / how to use them
  • Automated Unit testing design and implementation experience e.g. Junit, TestNG, Mockito
  • Familiarity with web / application servers, ideally Tomcat or Glassfish
  • Experience in developing with version control system (e.g. Git)
  • Front-end JavaScript experience working with React / Redux is a bonus.
