We are looking for an organisational superstar to join our awesome Climate Change Response team here at WCC, and support our climate action programme of work.
Wellington City Council through Te Atakura - First to Zero , a blueprint for becoming a zero carbon capital city, has recognised the need for urgent action on climate change.
For Wellington to thrive in a future of growing carbon constraints and climate impacts, we need to cut our greenhouse gas emissions and reduce our vulnerability to extreme weather events and rising sea-levels.
As the Business Support Officer, you will be the glue that holds the business unit together - using your admin skills to put in place business processes, helping to keep track of our finances, organising logistics of our team days and events, as well as supporting the Manager Climate Change Response, with email and calendar management.
The role also has opportunities to step up as project coordinator for some of the climate action initiatives we have on the go, and ensuring our internal and external website content is up to date.
Our ideal candidate is someone who has warmth, positivity and a sense of humour, bringing a love of organising and admin to the mission of climate action, and focused on ensuring we have the right processes in place to keep track of our work, budgets and information.
We have an ambitious programme of work underway to support the achievement of the City's net zero carbon by 2050 target.
It's a great place to work and we are a fun and collaborative bunch passionate about the work we do. There has never been a more exciting time to join us and play a critical role in driving sustainable and resilient outcomes for our city.
So, don't wait, hit the apply button now!
All applications for this role must be submitted online and will be treated in strict confidence. If you would like more information or have a confidential chat before applying, you are welcome to contact Alison Howard, Manager Climate Change Response at alison.
