The Turf Group has been locally operating in Pukekohe for over 10 years. They get involved with some great sporting grounds and provide natural and artificial grass to commercial and residential clients across NZ. The business has 20 staff but is linked to a wider group which is very exciting.

They support the local Councils and Community well and now have a newly created role due to rapid growth in the business. The role is for a new accounts star based at the Pukekohe head office working closely in a team of 3 covering admin and accounting – 1 day a week you will potentially work in the Auckland branch. They have a busy, fun and supportive working culture where the banter is alive!

We are looking for someone to take control of the accounting aspects of the business and you can bring your xero accounting experience to the table.

  • 30 - 40 hours per week (we are flexible)
  • Monday to Friday
  • Pukekohe location with onsite parking
  • Generous base salary

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Accounts Receivable
  • Raising invoices monthly
  • Allocation of receipts to debtor accounts as per remittances
  • Phone/Email support to customer queries
  • Accounts Payable:
  • Monitoring and management of Fieldturf accounts inbox
  • Entry of all AP invoices via PlusOne
  • 20th month and sundry payment runs processed and uploaded into banking
  • software
  • Phone/Email support to supplier queries
  • Twice-weekly bank account reconciliation
  • Processing and reconciliation of bank account transfers
  • Note: excludes any authorisation of bank transactions to ensure process sits outside of Anti Money Laundering legislation requirements around managing client funds
  • Monthly GST processing
  • Any liaison required with your accountant and IRD regarding transactions
  • Email and phone support
  • Weekly payroll processing for up to 20 staff
  • Pay day filing
  • Setting up PAYE payment to IRD monthly and reconciling payment to balance sheet
  • Any liaison required with IRD regarding payroll and PAYE
  • Reconciling of stock on the xero platform

To be successful for an interview:

  • Have a strong accounting background on the xero platform
  • You will be process driven and detail focused
  • Bring a positive, team player attitude
  • Confidence in making decisions and providing new ways to do things
