We’re seeking a highly motivated and passionate Head Shepherd to join our award winning team at Kepler Farm. If you’re a positive worker who would love to be a part of a high performing team situated in an amazing location, this could be the job for you.
As Head Shepherd, you’ll work alongside the Farm Manager and Stock Manager, predominately focusing on stock work, working with staff and feed budgeting.
This role will require great work ethic, using your initiative, a willingness to try new ideas, and an interest in working with innovative systems.
We’re looking for someone who will bring great shepherding experience and skills, an understanding of animal health, and someone with a sense of humour who enjoys working with and leading people.
This role will suit an experienced Head Shepherd or a Senior Shepherd with the ability to be a team player looking to for their next step up.
The 2019 Southland BFEA winner, Kepler Farm is set in spectacular scenery on the outskirts of Manapouri township and only a five to ten minute drive from Te Anau with easy access to the wonders of Fiordland National Park.
This 1645 ha farm is a predominantly flat to rolling hill property breeding and finishing 15,000 su with an all grass wintering system.
