About the Company

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically knowledgeable sales engineer to join a leading automation and electrical solution provider.

The focus of this role will be on relationship management, sales and new business development in the wholesale and end-user channel in the Waikato / Bay of Plenty region.

The company’s main office is in Auckland so there is the requirement to have a home office space. You need to live close to this region or within it.

Cuthbert Stewart are a family owned company who have been in business since 1948 and they offer an extensive product portfolio across multiple channels including electrical wholesale, power utility, OEM and industrial sites.

The business has been built on a total commitment to the provision of superior customer service. This is a new role reporting to the National Channel Manager and it is available due to the recent acquisition of new product agencies business is booming ! Please note that all existing staff are fully vaccinated and it is a company policy.

About the Role

Key responsibilities will include the development and growth of relationships with key end users and wholesale partners. This will entail regular contact and face time with existing and prospective clients, proactively identifying key projects and customers to maximise new business opportunities, liaising with internal customer support, technical support and procurement functions to optimize the provision of customer service, and introducing new products and services to the market as they emerge.

Inhouse training will be provided when new agencies are acquired and there is an expectation that you remain up to date with existing product developments and innovations.

About You

Suitable candidates will have a demonstrated background of sales and relationship management in the industrial electrical sector, ideally in the Waikato / Bay of Plenty region.

This experience will most likely be supported by an Electrical qualification or practical experience working in the industry.

Fluent written and verbal communication skills are essential as is a self-motivated, resilient and energetic approach. You will also need to be flexible and adaptable and solution oriented.

Exposure to medium sized company operating systems and customer relationship management systems will be an advantage but you will definitely need to have intermediate level computer literacy skills.
