Overview of the roleWe are looking for a self-motivated and results driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to generate and execute growth strategies in our downstream customer channels, primarily in the Roofing and Cladding sector.

These initiatives will be achieved through forming relationships and partnerships with end-user groups and using these relationships as the foundation for driving business initiatives to pull product and services through the value chain.

This full-time permanent position looks after the South Island and reports to the Head of Sales based at Glenbrook.As a smart, collaborative and technically savvy BDM, you will tackle this unique and exciting role, playing a vital part in the continued growth and success of New Zealand Steel.

With a proven ability to engage at multiple business levels, your key focus will be to generate sales and marketing activities which maximize opportunities with our channel and partner community.

About youKey to your success will be your energy and drive to search out opportunities to develop and grow new business to produce outstanding results.

You will enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment and as part of a high performing team. You will bring to the role : Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in a similar industry (Construction, Manufacturing)Project Management experienceThe ability to plan and implement strategies to a New Zealand Steel presence in the market.

Superior communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to educate and motivateYour experience as a natural influencer, confident in relationship management and stakeholder engagement.

The ability to work autonomously, with sound judgment and ability to take the initiative.Able to build pipeline coverage to achieve revenue targets and objectives.

Your commercial acumen, positive attitude and passion to succeed will make you a strong candidate for this role. This role covers the South Island so you will need to be able to travel when required.
