The Role We are seeking an Air Export Operator to join our friendly Christchurch Team.The purpose of the role is to provide an efficient and proactive Export service to all customers, overseas partners and related service providers for all aspects of Export operations with exceptional customer service.

Departmental / Operational Key Responsibilities may include :

  • Receives bookings from client of air freight export shipments;
  • Books shipments with airlines;
  • Creates all relative documentation and invoices client with charges relating to export shipments;
  • Arranges collection of cargo from client and delivery to airline handling agents;
  • Arranges the necessary Export Customs clearance in accordance with NZ Customs regulations
  • Invoicing and posting of costs on individual file level and ensure that there are no losses on files and points out immediately if he / she thinks there is not enough profit;
  • Prepares export quotes as required;
  • Ensures all aspects of accreditation and compliance are maintained and met - including but not limited to Aviation Security, MPI, NZ Customs, DB Schenker Global policies
  • Any other additional duties as may be directed from time to time by the Operations Manager or Management
  • Previous experience / Qualifications / Certifications / Licenses preferred

  • Able to multitask, reprioritise, proactive and deal with conflicting issues
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Strong customer focus with exceptional customer service skills, professional and competent dealing with internal and external clients at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
  • High level of confidentiality, trust, loyalty, and discretion
  • Exceptional organisational skills along with attention to detail, ability to maintain high level of accuracy in all work areas and delivery within deadlines
  • Demonstrates and ability to work flexible hours (outside of standard working hours) if required by clients
  • Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to build and maintain strong interpersonal and client relationships
  • Sound knowledge of Freight Forwarding
