Do you have an interest in insolvency investigations? We are looking for an Insolvency Investigator to join the Integrity and Enforcement Team (IET).

IET is part of the Criminal Proceeds, Integrity and Enforcement Group, within the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).

One of the core functions of IET is providing services to the Official Assignee and the Insolvency and Trustee Service to achieve its compliance and enforcement objectives.

The Insolvency and Trustee Service administers the Insolvency Act 2006, including breaches of the legislation. IET undertakes investigations and prosecutions on behalf of the Official Assignee.

They also have key responsibilities to :

  • contribute to the development of enforcement and investigation strategies
  • produce clear, concise reporting on outcomes
  • support the IET work programme
  • effectively manage relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • To be successful in this role, you will have :

  • proven experience in a law enforcement environment or a relevant tertiary qualification
  • working knowledge and ability to interpret and apply legislation, such as the Insolvency Act 2006
  • planning and organising skills, including ability to maintain performance when under pressure, critical assessment of work-flows, managing case-loads and appropriate prioritising of work
  • proven experience detecting, analysing and reporting information
  • experience creating and maintaining relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy
