We have an great opportunity for a manager to develop and implement the technologies and change processes that comprise the Digital Monitoring programme.
This is a major programme of work under the banner of the Fisheries Change programme that will drive significant transformation in the fisheries sector, enhancing New Zealand's position as a world leader in fisheries management.
This is a 2-year secondment or fixed-term opportunity for an experienced and motivated Level 4 manager.
About the role
You will take charge of leading the work to develop and implement the key technologies that comprise Digital Monitoring (electronic catch reporting, electronic position reporting, and cameras on boats should they be approved by Cabinet).
This includes developing business requirements, liaising with technology developers and partners, operational and regulatory analysis, and leading the major change management activities to ensure that MPI incorporates these technologies and realises their benefits within our fisheries management, science and information, and compliance teams.
