Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain production operations on two instruments (with 8 workstations) and understand the theory and concepts behind the technology and processes.
Provide and review detailed documentation and check all calculations (e.g. tickets, labels, equipment reading).
Maintain a clean and safe workplace and encourage others to do the same.
Anticipate potential problems and take preventative action. Requires judgment to know when it is necessary to consult with Lab Manager and / or support groups.
Work with coworkers and Lab Manager to effectively troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
Regularly check equipment and report equipment not operating efficiently.
Monitor supplies and communicate inventory issues in a timely manner.
Assist with productions projects as assigned and participate in continuous operational improvement
Strive and develop new skills. Assume greater responsibility within the department and organization.
Provide regular communication (both verbal and / or written) within operations.
Comply with established quality, safety, and environmental SOPs and policies.
Perform non-routine tasks and activities as assigned to ensure productivity.
First shift : Monday Friday, 6 : 00am 2 : 30pm
Second shift : Monday Friday, 2 : 00pm 10 : 30pm
Third shift : Monday - Friday, 10 : 00pm - 6 : 30am
There may be the possibility of occasional overtime with the possibility of occasional Saturday hours
Requirements
Degree in Biomedicine, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Veterinary Medicine or Complete Technical Course in Biology, Chemistry, Laboratory Techniques or related areas is preferred but not required.
Experience in a laboratory or equivalent production environment highly preferred.
Strong attention to detail and respect for quality assurance.
Basic math skills.
