Hastings District Council is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Practitioner to join our established Health & Safety Team.
We would like to have someone join our team who is passionate about Health & Safety and can hit the ground running’. You will be rewarded with constant learning opportunities, working within a close knit, fun and supportive team
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will be supporting Council’s Managers with day to day management of health and safety risks, engaging with staff and contractors to promote health, safety and wellbeing initiatives, undertaking site audits and inspections and delivering hands on health and safety training.
To be successful, you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Health & Safety and have at least three years’ experience in a professional health and safety role.
Previous experience within local government and construction or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.
You will need excellent communication and influencing skills, experience with risk management processes, document writing and compliance and a proven record of achievement, drive and initiative.
