COMPANY OVERVIEW
DC Group manages property and land developments, day-to-day operations and projects for the Port Nikau Joint Ventures and TDC entities.
The client entities are involved in some of the largest development projects in Northland.
The management team is responsible for assets in commercial and residential property, forestry, engineering and portfolio investments.
The company’s vision is to grow the assets by adding value to existing investments and acquiring new investments.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Financial Controller will provide strategic, financial, commercial and administrative management to the client companies.
They will operate at both strategic and hands-on accounting level.
ROLE PROFILE
The newly created role provides succession for Executive Directors involved in the businesses.
The successful applicant will be an accomplished finance professional with the ability and passion to add value to all aspects of the business.
They will demonstrate competence as a Financial Controller and the ability to provide a broad base of support to other commercial activities of the client companies both in-house and outsourced.
KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Monthly financial results, forecasts and reports
Annual accounts and budgets
Real-time cash flow monitoring and management
Financial analysis of capital projects, cost centres, revenue streams
Integrity of financial systems General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Work in Progress, Fixed Assets
Statutory and regulatory reporting including taxation
Liaison with consultants Planning, Survey, Legal, Valuation - to complete property subdivisions and transfers.
Managing commercial lease portfolio lease documents, rent reviews and negotiations
Lead relationships with finance, insurance, valuation and other external professional services
Provide professional input into strategy and business cases in collaboration with Project Managers and Directors
Risk management and compliance functions
Business reputation and communications management
Candidates should demonstrate :
At least 5 years’ experience in a senior financial accounting role
CA qualified with strong technical accounting knowledge
A broad base of commercial acumen and the ability to make informed, timely decisions
Ability to build strong business relationships and contribute to commercial negotiations
Strong and accurate documentation skills
Advanced business communications skills
Resourcefulness and self-drive
