  • As part of our public transport growth journey we recently announced the award of a new Rail Franchise after an extended procurement programme;
  • this is an exciting change and a great opportunity for the right candidate; the rail operator selected through the procurement phase will deliver a broader scope of rail services, which will bring significant change to how we operate internally at Metro.

    This role is a key conduit to progress the planned transitional activity for the establishment of the Rail Franchise relating to the contractual specifications and framework.

    Commercial and contract astuteness will be a given, as will the ability to establish robust systems and mechanisms for contract management and measurement.

    About the Role

    This is a senior leadership role that will need to work collaboratively across the organisation in a time bound environment while leading & embedding significant change to ways of working.

    Key Tasks will include :

  • Meeting with the Business Technology team to map changes to Contract Management Operating Payment (CMOP) KPI processing system
  • Leading workshops for contract compliance framework establishment.
  • Educating and coaching the train services team on the contract framework, systems, and governance mechanisms.
  • Meeting with Group Manager and Transition Project Manager to resolve any escalated issues during establishment.
  • Transitional meeting attendance : contract establishment discussions with Rail Franchise leadership; internal stakeholder briefings;
  • governance and risk management.

  • KPI measurement process and procedures establishment
  • Rail Franchise and AT contract governance establishment
  • Establishing commercial links and contractual commercial mechanisms
  • Close out of legal aspects, including bond establishment
  • Progression to contract inclusion of secondary transitional activities relating to facilities.
  • Other key requirements include :

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce or legal field
  • Project Management
  • Minimum ten years' contract management experience
  • Minimum ten years working within a complex stakeholder environment
  • Demonstrable transitional experience with contract establishment
  • Understanding of public transport, applicable legislation and stakeholders
  • Industrial relations experience
  • Project management
  • Health and Safety
  • Along with the above-mentioned skills and experience, this position will draw on your ability to be highly organised, analytical and operational reasoning skills, customer centric focus and drive to achieve outcomes.
