  • Resource Management is important as it brings together the goals of our business and our people. We aim to have the right people scheduled on the right projects, business development and practice management activities balancing abilities along with opportunities for development while incorporating Deloitte's need for client service excellence and engagement profitability.

    With our forecasting we are able to inform the Partners of peaks and troughs within the business, we truly have our finger on the pulse’ and are seen as trusted advisors by the Partnership, offering advice and suggestions for our people and our business.

    What will your typical day look like?

  • Engagement resourcing proactively managing the scheduling of staff on engagements, with a continued focus on business profitability and client service delivery, as well as the skill building for our staff.
  • Capacity, utilisation monitoring & reporting review of short- and long-term capacity information. Understand the resource unit stress points on resourcing with a minimum 3 months window and work with business to develop strategies to support this.
  • Resource Management representation participation and contribution to geography, clusters and team meetings as required being able to forward plan resourcing options.
  • Working closely with Partners, Directors and Managers to resolve all requests within 24hrs or continual follow-up until completion of request.
  • Understand the development needs of all practitioners; work with the leaders of the business to identify opportunities for practitioners to develop these needs into strengths.
  • Work closely with other deployment team members when cross service line deployment is required.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports to Management, assisting with analysis when necessary. This includes but is not limited to weekly management reports, variance and adhoc reporting.
  • Work with Partners to deploy summer interns onto projects to give them realistic insights into life as a consultant at Deloitte.
  • Work with Partners to deploy graduates to appropriate projects to support their growth as Deloitte consultants in Deloitte Consulting.
  • Manage the risk / opportunity of deploying resources onto sold and potential work. Ensuring that all conflicts are dealt with promptly and decisively for the smooth operation of Deployment.
  • Manage the handoff from recruitment through onboarding into the practice, including keeping in touch with new hires prior to their start date.
  • Provide an induction for all new joiners in relation to Resource Management. Continuous improvement of resource management processes, ensuring that best practice is adopted across all offices.
  • Encouragement of practitioners not only to participate in training but where possible assist in identifying practitioners to facilitate the training.
