Auckland Transport is so much more than we might seem, as a key stakeholder within the City Rail link Project we have responsibilities with the significant pipeline of technology related deliverables to enable New Zealand's largest civil works project.

This isn't just another Network and Security engineering role, on a given day you will be instrumental in designing, building and operating technology solutions critical to the outcomes of this project.

About the role :

Reporting into the CRL delivery manager you will be a critical member of a close-knit team.

To ensure design reviews, hands on configuration, management and operational responsibility for networking and security solutions critical to the outcomes of the CRL project.

To ensure the Network and Security systems, whether on-premise, cloud or hybrid are provisioned and managed in their lifecycle in a manner that is scalable, secure, available, measurable, supportable and consistently delivering.

Design, build and lifecycle management of Network / Security / infrastructure services based on CRL and SEC / DEV / OPS requirements and priorities.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide subject matter expertise within the design review process.
  • Undertake hands on configuration and solution management.
  • Assume operational responsibility for Network and Security solutions critical to the outcomes of the CRL project
  • Assume collective ownership of network and security infrastructure design reviews to ensure fit for purpose solutions.
  • Implementation and operation of Network and security infrastructure across the AT / CRL development, test, pre-production and production IT systems
  • Lifecycle management (build, operation) across the CRL and Rail network environment in alignment with AT standards
  • Security management (build, operation) across the CRL and Rail environment in alignment with AT standards
  • Foster the curiosity, leverage relationships and apply the technical thought leadership necessary for industry leading networking and security solution implementation and ongoing optimization
  • Key Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or significant proven experience in a similar role
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a distributed technology environment.
  • Relevant vendor accreditations / certifications with core networking technologies, examples : Firewalls, Load Balances, Routing, Switching, Security and Wireless
  • Demonstrable Experience with core networking technologies, examples : Firewalls, Load Balances, Routing, Switching, Security and Wireless
