LiveLife Disability Support Services (DSS) provide supportto people who have disabilities to achieve their personal aspirations andchoices.
DSS provides support to over 250 people in a variety of residential and respite settings across theNelson / Tasman and Marlborough regions.
We support each person to manage their dayto day lives in ways and at times that work for them. The people we supporthave a wide range of abilities and challenges.
Some people need support with theirpersonal care and taking care of household tasks; some need support toparticipate in go out and about and join in social and leisure activities andsome need communication and behavioural support.
We also workwith family / whanau to provide time for them to have a break, while their childstays in one of our respite houses.
We actively encourage people to pursue their dreams and try out newexperiences, and can guarantee that no two days working at DSS are ever thesame.
We work collaboratively and in partnership withMental Health and Addictions, Youth Justice, Oranga Tamariki, and othercommunity organisations to meet the needs of people we support.
N.B.Disability Support Services are part of Nelson Marlborough Health, however, weare not a medical / clinical service. We are a community based disabilitysupport service focused on quality of life EnablingGood Lives Principles.

Thisis a fixed term (12 months) part-time position working an average of 45 hours afortnight over a 6 week rotating roster cycle (0.56FTE), plus 7 sleepovers.
Plus7 *sleepovers, 10.00PM to 7.00AM, during the 6 week roster cycle.

Youwill have a can-do attitude and be able to work with children and adults, aspart of a proactive team, in a residential home.

Yourhourly rate will be $20.50to $25.50 dependent upon your qualifications as recognised under theCare and Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement Act 2017.
Thisposition is classified by Immigration as ANZSCO 423111 and applicants for thisposition must be NZ or Australian Citizens, or have NZ Permanent Residency, ora valid NZ work visa.
Appointmentand ongoing employment will be conditional upon criminal record / police checks -you must declare any convictions and / or pending charges on your applicationform.
This will include checks under the Children Act 2014 and may includeCYRAS Vetting via Oranga Tamariki for some roles.
