Auckland CBD, AucklandPart-timeJob Summary : Our Overnight Demi Chef is on board to assist the day team in Mise en Place and were necessary operate a section of kitchen and ensure that food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are carried out according to established recipes, standards and hygiene.
Duties : To organise the kitchen and ensure it runs efficiently and productivelyWork with the Executive Sous Chef to develop products through creative new conceptsProvide assistance and support to the Commis Chefs via allocating tasks and providing trainingBe familiar with the other kitchen sections, promoting flexibility and productivityEnsure all food produced is in line with kitchen recipes and standardsPrepare and cook all food orders with a sense of urgencyCheck all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulationsEnsure that work area, equipment and section is kept clean at all times, in accordance with current health and hygiene regulationsMonitor daily kitchen food and product requirements and advise the supervisor of these well in advanceMonitor food preparation and wastage costs control these by following efficient preparation methods and standard recipesRequired Experience, Skills and Qualifications : Previous experience at a Demi Chef level, minimum two years in a commercial kitchen environmentPrevious experience within a Hatted establishment is highly advantageousCertification in Professional CookeryImmaculate grooming, articulate in communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and mentor ambassadorsHas the ability to work autonomouslyHas the ability and willingness to undertake further development with SO / AucklandAppreciates and maintains an effective outlet for stressAn understanding of luxury guest expectationsExcellent understanding of food hygiene regulations, for example HACCAP, Food Safety Plan etcPhysically fit and able to stand for the duration of a shift (8 hours)Job Type and CategoryCome join our team here at SO / Auckland.
