  • Work towards sustainable land management practicesKōrero mō te tūranga - About the roleTe Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service has embarked on a multi-year programme to strengthen and deepen the provision of planning and advice to the Forestry sector and landowners.
  • This Service will take a strategic national view of forests, forestry, and wood processing and use that to provide advice to optimise the sector, maximise the benefits of our forests, and support sustainable land management practice.

    In this fixed term role (through to December 2022) the Implementation Manager Forest & Wood Engagement and Advice will lead a team that will frame-up and deliver the first iteration of the Partnering Strategy to underpin our enhanced advisory service including continuing the development of our Māori Engagement Strategy.

    This team will also consolidate and build our advice offering, linking with our other units to streamline advice by customer segment, channel, and product type.

    Looking into the future, the team will also map ways our advice services can deepen and mature in the coming years.Ideally this will be a Rotorua based position, however we are open to receiving applications from candidates in other locations.

    The salary band for this role is : $128,247 - $173,511 depending on skills and experience.Mōu - About YouYou will enjoy the challenge that comes from standing up new teams that work seamlessly across agencies and with a broad range of stakeholders.

    You will be able to lead your team in the creation and implementation of strategy, processes, and new ways of working.Experience in consulting with and managing internal and external relationships with diverse stakeholders is a must.

    Demonstrating management success in engagement, collaboration, building relationships and gaining the support and participation of key individuals and groups.

    High level stakeholder relationship skills, with the ability to get first-hand customer information and use it for improvements in products and services.

    Your customer focus and service ethic will shine through.We are looking for someone with :

  • A tertiary qualification in relevant discipline(s)
  • People management experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and achieve results through others
  • Previous track record of successful management and business planning, with strategic capability, and the ability to maintain a clear focus on long term goals
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex programmes of work
  • Experience successfully developing and implementing systems and processes
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and gain their trust and respect
  • Ability to plan, set priorities and meet deadlines while working under pressure and in conflict situations
  • Sound commercial acumen
  • Strategic thinking and agility
