What we are doing :

We are growing our Treasury Finance team in size and capability to build local capacity to deliver important Treasury support functions currently undertaken by our parent bank in Sydney.

We are looking for experienced Treasury Finance professionals to join our team, help with this important transformational project and ultimately deliver these functions on a day-to-day basis.

A bit about this role :

We have an opportunity for an experienced Treasury Finance professional to join the team as senior subject matter expert with responsibility to develop and deliver the key Treasury support activities of Interest Rate Risk Measurement & Reporting, Cost of Funds Analysisand Transfer Pricing Analysis.

Initially, there will be a project phase to this role as you work with colleagues across the local and parent bank to assess the current operating model and the scope of work required to bring these functions onshore.

You will also assist with hiring the right team to support you as you transition these support functions into the local environment.

Following successfully establishing these functions locally, you will manage the delivery of these functions on an ongoing basis.

Reporting to the Head of Treasury Finance, this is a critical leadership role within Treasury Finance, and you will share responsibility to develop a best-in-class service culture across the team.

You will develop key relationships with the Treasurer and Treasury & Market Risk teams and colleagues in the wider Finance community, including Financial and Regulatory Reporting.

You will also deal regularly with our parent bank colleagues in Treasury Finance.

What you will need to succeed :

We are looking for someone who has the right level of specialist subject matter experience, can operate effectively in a project environment, can effectively grow, and manage a team, influence, and manage senior stakeholders and use their analytical mind and attention to detail to deliver quality and timely support for these key Treasury Finance functions.

We need you to bring your personable, engaging, and confident leadership style coupled with your ability to communicate skilfully and confidently across the business.

To succeed in this role, you will need :

Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce or Accounting

CA, CPA or CFA qualified

7+ years of relevant experience in a bank or a financial / professional services organisation

Experience with Treasury and Financial Markets product accounting and analysis

Financial modelling and advanced Excel experience

Demonstrable leadership skills (preferred)

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to build strong relationships across the organisation

Strong understanding of the wider macro-economic environment and its impacts on Westpac performance

Ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex issues to management with fantastic written communication and reporting skills
