About the opportunity

Established in 1881, our Edendale manufacturing site is New Zealand’s oldest dairy processing site and with 13 plants, we produce 14 million bags of milk powder each year for export and process up to 15 million litres of milk every day in peak season.

As our Building Maintenance specialist, you will be joining our newly invigorated and growing Facilities team in a dynamic and fast paced manufacturing environment.

Day to day you’ll have the responsibility of managing the upkeep of our building maintenance across our entire site. This includes building work and repairs, remediation, minor concrete works and general support of maintenance on site.

We have an excellent training and development culture and this is a fantastic opportunity to learn about our site, plant and processes to build on your knowledge and experience.

About you

This is a busy and varied role and we are looking for an energetic self-starter who enjoys being hands-on and who has experience in building facilities maintenance.

You’ll be a practical hands-on person who is ready to roll your sleeves up and pitch in where needed and your ability to work well and communicate with others will be key in maintaining a cohesive team across the site.

To be successful you will :

  • Ideally be a qualified Licence Building Practitioner
  • Have strong self and time management skills
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Be adaptable while also remaining calm under pressure
  • Be physically fit
  • Have basic level of computer skills across the Microsoft applications.
