Senior Social Worker - Adult Mental Health

£41,552 to £50,290 per annum

  • ECC Adult Social Care, through effective practice, is moving towards a transformational shift from a focus on long-term care support, to a model with four key principles : - prevention;
  • early intervention; enablement and safeguarding.

    This will enable people, their families and carers to access information and tools, live healthily and independently and for our function an opportunity to respond pro-actively to growing service demand in a sustainable way, within the financial constraints of the Council.

    The Team

    This is an exciting opportunity to join mental health social work in our Partnership organisation that promotes the standards for Employers of Social Work and subscribe to the Department of Health’s Social Work for Better Mental Health programme, and the Think Ahead initiative.

    As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a key part in providing social care service and exemplar social work practice ensuring that excellence of service is provided across the department.

    You will contribute to change management, concluding ECC’s transformation and ensuring it is configured for continuous improvement adhering to the Key Performance Indicators as provided by ECC under the Section 75 partnership agreement.

    The team at Knightswick are used to working in a very fast paced environment so experience in Community mental health is vital.

    About the role

    Your responsibilities will also include :

  • Working collaboratively across the Council, with partners and statutory and voluntary agencies, to ensure a joined-up approach.
  • Taking part in a range of case conferences, meetings and statutory reviews, pro-actively taking the lead when a social care perspective is required.
  • Developing a high level of expertise in particular areas of practice, and leading on those areas

    About you

    You’ll also bring :

  • Evidence of continuing professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
  • An in-depth understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.
  • The ability to make clear decisions, to highlight and limit potential risks associated with intervention.
  • This role involves travelling around Essex. A driving licence and car - or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means - is essential.
