Registered Nurse, Community Team, Auckland Regional Forensic Psychiatry Service-PTC00021 Are you a registered nurse that is tired of shift work and craving a position giving you more freedom and out in the community?

Mason Clinic was created in response to the New Zealand Government inquiry into the care of mentally ill offenders. We provide an integrated forensic mental health service to the northern region’s courts, prisons and general mental health services.

We also work collaboratively with CYFS, general mental health services, NGOs, Consumer Advisors, Iwi and learning institutions to achieve high quality health outcomes.

Our inpatient services consist of seven forensic mental health inpatient units and an intellectual disability unit that assess, treat and assist in the recovery of people with mental illness or intellectual disability who have committed a criminal offence.

We have a Rehabilitation Unit that has Maori values and practices integrated with the Recovery model.Forensic community nurses are registered nurses who work to provide medico-

legal care to service users utilising speciality skills that include the ability to conduct and document clinical assessments, and then provide interventions, and nursing care plans.

About the position : This is an ideal position for a registered nurse who is looking for an opportunity to develop their careers outside of mainstream mental health into the unique and challenging world of forensics.

You will be working with an experienced community mental health team caring for service users transitioning from the in-

patient service to the community.Our service is well resourced and supported with a reputation of being in a league of its own.

Our management team are well established veterans within the forensic psychiatry sector who are dedicated to the training and development of our nursing staff.
