The theatre department at NelsonHospital provides public acute and elective services. We are a friendly andsupportive team focusing on providing a caring and professional environment.
OurTheatre Suite consists of 6 Operating Theatres with a Recovery Room, a SterileServices department and Endoscopy suite.
This is a permanent full-timeposition working 80 hours a fortnight. Shiftsare rostered and rotating, and may include weekends and on-call.
Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Whois an appropriate applicant?)
You’ll hold a Certificate inAdvanced Sterilising Technology Level 5, or equivalent, recognised by the NZSterile Services Association (NZSSA) and have a minimum of two years recentexperience in a Sterile Services / Theatre Technician role.
You’ll also havegreat interpersonal skills, loads of initiative and be able to demonstrate thatyou have been involved with the development of sterile services qualitysystems, process improvement and change management.
You will be highly organised,act as a role model, establish and maintain positive professionalrelationships, inspire and motivate others and build resilience in the team.
Itwill be important that you develop a productive and cohesive team environmentthrough the setting of clear goals, implementing of sound work processes andproviding constructive feedback.
Experience with rostering,training staff and managing their day-to-day performance, oversight of budgetsand developing and reporting on KPIs and national standards would be a distinctadvantage.
