We have a fantastic fixed term opportunity (2 X 0.5 FTE) available for someone with passion and skills for adult learning in the Pasifika languages of Tongan.

The successful applicant will have :

  • Suitable tertiary teaching qualification at level 5 or higher, which may include either the Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or the New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) and / or the National Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (Level 5) or the New Zealand Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (Level 5) and / or equivalent.
  • Fluency in Tongan Language, cultural knowledge and strong connections to the Tongan community are essential.
  • Practical experience in teaching Tongan language, as well as in a range of education curriculum areas are desirable. The diverse environment of our students will require you to have experience working in a multicultural environment with tertiary teaching experience or facilitation with adults.

    You could be expected to teach across campuses and the flexibility to teach evening or weekend classes is required.
