THE POSITION

The Technical Support Engineer reports to the Head of Service Branch New Zealand. S / he is responsible for providing a quality level of electrical and mechanical engineering, technical service, installation and commissioning work for GEA customers with a prompt and efficient after hour’s emergency breakdown response, either through phone or on farm response solution.

Knowledge Skills and Qualifications requirements :

Technical knowledge of milking equipment service and consumables requirements & specifications.

  • Strong Electrical Background
  • Experience in refrigeration would be a help
  • Knowledge in computer networking and fault finding.
  • Needs knowledge and experience in process and control systems.
  • PLC experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills required
  • Ability to develop and sustain a large network of key relationships
  • Demonstrated proactive planning and organizational skills
  • Strong drive to achieve expected results
  • Ability to think and act strategically
  • Strong focus on accuracy and details
  • A collaborative team player
  • Strong computer skills e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Full and current NZ Driver’s License required

  • Customer Service ResponsibilitiesCoordinate supply of spares, consumables and serviceLiaise with service personnel to meet agreed service levelsProvide customer service, training and technical support on siteKeep in regular contact with area sales managerCarry out company initiativesAttend Field days and Local Shows / ConferencesActively Promote Company Products and ServicesProvide Feedback on Products, Services, Dealers, and Area Sales Potential for Management Assessment.
