nJob Title - Payroll and Finance Assistant n nLocation - Earlston, Scottish Borders n nSalary - u00A327k - u00A329k DOE n nHours - Full time, permanent n nWe are working with the largest integrated forestry business in the UK, with 1700 employees and operations spanning the forestry, sawmilling, timber manufacturing and energy sectors.

n nWith 7 sawmills in the UK and one in Latvia, manufacturing and supplying a wide range of quality sawn products for a variety of industries, they are constantly working together to create a sustainable future for British forests and woodlands.

n nBased in the Head Office and reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, your role as a Payroll and Finance Assistant will be to support in the preparation and processing of Payrolls of the company and any subsidiary entities.

This role will also have banking and cashbook responsibilities, reporting to the Financial Controller. n nWhat you will be doing : n nAssisting in the accurate and timely preparation and processing of the individual Group entities payrolls.

nAssisting Site Administrators with timely and accurate preparation of payroll information for hourly paid employees. nMaintaining accurate employee records within the Group payroll software including new starters information, pension information and online portal access.

nMaintaining accurate records for all Government schemes in a timely and efficient manner. nProviding cover for the duties of the Payroll Supervisor during holidays and sickness.

nAssisting in the preparation and processing of BACs payments. nControlling and reconciling of weekly cashbooks, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded.

nAbout you : n nExperienced in payroll or financial administration nSolid understanding of payroll fundamentals, legislation and best practice nA strong background in data input and good knowledge of purchase ledger, sales ledger, and Microsoft office programmes.

nA keen attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast pace, growing business. nExcellent computer skills across all Microsoft programmes.

nExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
