Te Whiwhinga mahi The opportunity

Building a new power station is not for the faint hearted, we are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to support the development of our new build.

You will have the opportunity to support with the consenting, conceptual and front end design, project contracting and setup of new power station developments as we progress to investment decisions and thereafter into construction.

It's a unique opportunity to be exposed to the forefront of energy and decarbonisation strategy whilst working on real world projects.

Beyond this you will have plenty of scope to keep your days busy and your mind active. We envisage this role eventually moving into the involvement of the construction execution as each project progress.

This role is not for the faint hearted and we are looking for a particular set of skills, including the ability to :

Oversee and undertake project activities from conceptual design management, detailed design oversight, procurement, contract management and implementing project controls new geothermal power stations.

Actively lead along with the wider project team and contractors to achieve industry best practice safety outcomes across the project.

Be aware of opportunities to create value and identified project risks, to support the mitigation and / or management of these risks.

Support the Project Manager in the management of consultants and contractors to plan our our developments and as the projects move into the execution phase, complete the design, tendering, construction and commissioning of these projects.

Liaise with associated parties to ensure all works meet Contact’s requirements, integrate with other project works and meet all contractual delivery dates.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone that has a Bachelor of Engineering or similar, and ideally with geothermal experience to ensure you can hit the ground running and have a specific appreciation for some of the nuances in this particular area.
