What will you do :
As the Maintenance Manager, you will sit within the Global Animal Health Manufacturing organization and report to the Manufacturing & Engineering Manager.
You will be responsible for leading the engineering routine maintenance and equipment or facility breakdown service to maximize plant output while ensuring the best overall cost, customer satisfaction, safety, and regulatory compliance for the Animal Health New Zealand business.
You will maximize plant uptime and maintain services for the Site while developing and strengthening the maintenance team.
You will be responsible for growing a solid safety culture within the maintenance team and supporting site safety.
You will be a key stakeholder in site expansion works and strongly collaborate with site capital projects, Production, Quality, EHS, and BTS managers.
You will provide advice and technical support to the Manufacturing and Engineering Manager, develop and streamline maintenance documentation practices following GMP requirements.
You will improve efficiencies to ensure the Site can meet future maintenance requirements as new equipment's are installed
Delivery of all Engineering Preventive Maintenance
You will ensure all preventative maintenance is completed and breakdowns are minimised.
Ensure all Instrument maintenance-related calibrations are accurately done.
The equipment life cycle is documented correctly, and recommendations are made for an equipment replacement program
Responsible for aligning the preventive maintenance program with the plant output schedule to minimise any impact on plant output.
Delivery of all Engineering Breakdown Maintenance
You will provide the general engineering assistance (Breakdown, problem resolution, and root cause analysis), including input for improvement and development work, for production and general Site.
You will be ensuring that all breakdowns and faults are recorded and logged in the engineering database, and equipment failures are logged to the maintenance calendar for Work Order allocation.
You will produce a monthly report on Breakdown and equipment status data against agreed KPIs.
Provide Leadership for Direct Reports :
You will be actively developing staff through coaching and training, and drive business results through the performance management system.
Maintain an effective Call-Out system to provide 24 / 7 coverage for emergencies and develop and manage a shift schedule to support extended production hours
Ensure that Contractors are inducted and supervised on Site and facilitate and support Engineering team meetings
You will prepare cost estimates and capital requests as necessary, process and approve invoices promptly
You will be responsible for the compliance with building codes, managing site security and fire protection, oversee energy management for the sites.
You will operate Within the Engineering Cost Centre Budget, ensure regulatory compliances and focus on the Quality Processes.
You will ensure that there is a complete set of up-to-date SOPs, including those for preventative maintenance,
Ensure all validation, calibration, and maintenance check sheets are complete on time, all staff are trained, and that training is recorded and updated.
Support internal and external audits and confirm that all statutory documents for Pressure Vessels, Pressure Equipment, and pipework are kept up to date
Support Capital Projects :
Provide input into the prioritisation of projects, possible solutions, and concepts their input to site master planning and defining overall site strategies on crucial infrastructure.
You will ensure participation in Design Reviews (incl constructability, maintenance, and safety in design) and HAZOPS to cover maintenance requirements.
Review RFC requests for capital and Project Initiation documents, ensure that critical spares for new equipment are identified and purchased
Documentation and PV Responsibilities
Maintain all documentation following the Company's quality standards and develop the team performance for delivering good quality documentation with a focus on the right first time,
Maintain the Engineering Archive to ensure documentation can be found and retrieved on time.
Maintain the Site Pipe Specifications and Drawing Database and ensure all building warrant of fitness documentation is kept current and is readily accessible
You will be responsible for all hazards, and environmental aspects within maintenance responsibility are identified, documented, assessed, and controlled under EHS procedures.
Ensure compliance with legal and other requirements. Assist in developing EHS objectives, targets, and performance indicators, establishing EHS improvement projects, and reviewing progress.
Ensure all employees receive such EHS information, instruction, training, and supervision as is necessary. Compilation of EHS reports as required by senior management, regulatory authorities, and others.
You will identify and record EHS monitoring requirements and implement appropriate monitoring. Ensure scheduled audits and inspections are conducted and necessary corrective actions are developed and completed.
You will confirm that contractor safety inductions are carried out, appropriate permits are issued, and contractor work is overseen to ensure it is performed safely and appropriately.
What should you have :
You have a Bachelor of Engineering with an Electronic / Instrumentation focus with adequate field experience.
You have a minimum 10-year post-tertiary related experience in a related field, with a hands-on experience with GMP, GLP, or ISO 9000 in a production environment.
You have hands-on experience with equipment, especially water systems, HVAC, and production equipment. You have extensively worked in manufacturing sites such as pharma, brewing, food industry, milk processing plants, hospitals, and other large facilities).
You have done building and site services in your past roles
You have a working knowledge of NZ electrical codes, Building Codes, NZ Health and Safety, and RMA legislation.
Experience with PCL, BMS (Building management systems), and other automation systems a help
You have managerial experience in leading a team and managing people in large manufacturing setup.
You have excellent communication skills, can liaise with people at different levels within the Organisation, and are hands-on with managing stakeholders.
