As a gas industry trainee, you will : Develop the required skills and knowledge to work safely, effectively and competently in the field.
Be enrolled to complete a formal MITO registered national qualification as a Gas Distribution Fitter in Mains and Service laying, Level 3 and 4.
To achieve this, you will receive direct hands on experience and attend theory-based learning with our skilled trainers.
If you are willing to learn, you should achieve this in approximately 3-4 years. Earn while you learn, with all required training paid for by Electrix.
Receive an attractive remuneration package which includes fully funded medical insurance and generous contributions to KiwiSaver, to those eligible.
Plus, your hourly rate of pay will increase as you achieve the required MITO qualification training levels. The key job responsibilities for a new trainee are : Assisting with installing new gas connections.
Compiling and completing accurate documentation. Assisting with construction and expansion of the gas distribution network.
Providing quality customer service to customers and the public. Our ideal applicant will have the following attributes : A mechanical aptitude and an ability to work well with their hands.
Be physically fit and capable of manual labour. Good time management. A strong work ethic and commitment to learning. Sound problem solving abilities.
