    THE ROLE

    We are currently looking for an experienced and adaptable Health and Safety Specialist to provide expert health and safety advice for staff and external stakeholders, across our networks and in our construction projects.

    This is a relationship focused role supporting safety, health and wellbeing initiatives primarily on projects but also across our growing public transport / operations portfolios.

    You will be enhancing and building safety capability through targeted training, best practice system development and implementation.

    There will be onsite visits, assessments and a wide variety of client management tasks.

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years' Advisory experience in a H&S construction environment
  • Proven knowledge of New Zealand H&S legislation
  • Recognised health and Safety Qualifications (eg. NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent)
  • Empathy and patience in managing and resolving H&S issues
  • Experience using H&S reporting system preferred
  • Experience of Permit to Work systems
  • To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to be a forward-thinking individual with high levels of energy and enthusiasm for process.

    In addition to the key skills listed above, we require also require a confident and collaborative communicator with sensitive relationship building skills and the ability to influence at all levels.

    Ideally you may have come from a background in civil engineering, major projects and / or construction.
