About this role

We currently have two permanent Registered Nurse positions available, working within the Cancer Center at Tauranga Hospital.

This service delivers high quality care to people and their families requiring medical oncology treatment. The service is committed to Bay of Plenty District Health Board (BOPDHB) CARE values and offers a great supportive team environment.

These are permanent, part-time 0.9FTE positions, working 72 hours per fortnight.

The Registered Nurse - Oncology provides nursing care to oncology patients on their journeys from diagnosis to the completion of treatment.

The role includes the safe administration of chemotherapy, assisting with oncology related procedures and assisting at oncology haematology clinic sessions.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide continuity of care, patient education, clinical assessment and access to treatment at a high level in a busy and positive multidisciplinary team.

If you have experience or an interest in oncology nursing this is an opportunity to join this specialist service. Training and education will be provided to applicants who wish to follow this career pathway.

Knowledge of Tikanga, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the principles of Kaupapa Māori is also an asset. Applicants must be committed to implementing Te Toi Ahorangi strategy to ensure patients and their whānau move towards Toi Ora.

The applicant must also role model this commitment along with the rest of the clinical team.
