Head of Portfolio Management Office (PMO)

The Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is a centralised function that operates at a strategic and operational level to provide enterprise-wide support to ensure effective governance of our portfolio of programmes and projects in a consistent, transparent and robust way.

The PMO ensures resources are directed to the initiatives that are aligned to Eke Panuku's strategic objectives and that it cares about most.

We need a Head of PMO, who will define strategic investments, manage talent and monitor delivery of all our high-profile programmes and projects.

You will guide the PMO to ensure it is fit for purpose, improving in line with best practise and evolving to meet the changing needs of the business.

This will ensure projects and programmes are set up to succeed from the start, and the benefits sought from these investments are realised.

The purpose of this role is to :

  • Lead the development and management of the PMO and its staff
  • Lead the effective and efficient operation of portfolio management and governance
  • Provide high-quality analysis and advice to support Executive decision-making around projects, programmes and portfolio
  • Guide the development of appropriately tailored training and related support including relevant tools, methods and systems
  • Provide strategic challenge, overview and scrutiny, ensuring alignment with wider policy and strategic objectives.
  • This role requires team leadership experience programme and project management skills and experience, a history of achievement in developing and delivering PMO services and a track record of successfully planning and delivering complex programmes of work and projects in challenging environments.

    We will be looking for someone who has :

  • Sound leadership qualities to lead the PMO team to support the planning and delivery of our programmes and projects and provide a quality PMO function and service.
  • A working style that creates constructive, collaborative, and empowered relationships
  • The ability to build confidence and positively influence good governance
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and maintaining relationships, at all levels, that contribute to the delivery of strategic outcomes
  • Decision-making skills based on medium- and long-term imperatives, and an ability to maintain a strategic perspective
  • Ability to review work and provide constructive coaching and mentoring to develop our people and lift overall standards.
