Reporting to Payroll Manager and collaborating within a national team, the Payroll Officer is responsible to ensure the employees in your division are paid in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with their employment contract as well as current legislation.

Your key responsibilities will include :

  • Providing training / support to the business for Time and Attendance and Manager / Employee Self Service
  • Weekly and monthly General Ledger preparation and uploads
  • Weekly and monthly Payroll Review / Checking for banking sign off
  • Payroll Reconciliations (i.e. GL, IRD, Jury Service, Social Club)
  • Ensuring employee e-files are kept up to date
  • Providing support and information as required to external agencies (i.e IRD, ACC, WINZ, Housing NZ)
  • Reviewing and recommending changes to processes to support continuous improvement
  • Providing support to site supervisors and administrators on payroll related queries and issues
  • Ensuring employee payroll queries are dealt with efficiently and on a timely basis
  • Ensuring confidentiality of payroll / personnel information
  • As a successful candidate you will have :

  • Proven payroll experience desirable in Datacom system
  • Relevant experience in a multi-site (including remote locations) and multi agreement environment
  • Sound knowledge of statutory payroll requirements nationwide
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work with a diversity of varying demands
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work at various levels within the Organisation
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work to deadlines with good time management skills
