The Ghella Abergeldie Joint Venture is seeking experienced Construction Labourers to join the Survey team on the Central Interceptor Project.
Reporting to the Surveyor you will assist with the day to day survey activities, such as setting up instruments and equipment, laying out stakes / markers, holding measuring prism poles vertical and placing survey marks for the Central Interceptor Project.
This is an ideal role for someone who has recently gained their Surveying qualifications or has construction site experience.
What you will be doing : Assisting with day-to-day surveying activities for civil construction and underground sitesConduct daily vehicle checks, ensure survey equipment are available and in good conditionSet up equipment and instruments on siteHammering and drilling for the placement of stakes / markersEnsure the site is always in a safe and tidy condition and wastage is minimisedCheck that duties are completed efficiently in order to meet or exceed requirementsKeeping the Surveyor informed of any survey challengesThe successful candidate will have : 1-2 years of construction labouring experienceCertificate in Surveying (L4) ideal but not essentialLegible hand writing and ability to work with numbersPositive and pro-active approach toward teamworkGood communication skills and can do’ attitudeSafety awareAbility to work under pressure, determine priorities and follow instructionsConstruct Safe Level 1 is ideal but not essential - we will provide this training!The Central Interceptor is the largest wastewater tunnel in New Zealand.
