    About our group and team

    You will be part of the wider Information Technology group. Information Technology provides the Ministry with the support it needs to plan, deliver, use and maintain a range of IT Systems.

    ICT Strategy, Planning, and Architecture (SPA) work with the Ministry and education sector to ensure clear alignment and connection between business strategy, Digital strategy, and digital solution design.

    We have recently undertaken a review of our current workforce and have identified a number of roles we need to fill to ensure that our strong delivery commitment is continued at its high standard and as a result of this we are looking for a Senior Technical Architect to join the team.

    The successful candidate will be involved in significant digital initiatives that will have the ability to transform the way the New Zealand Education System is supported and operated, making a material difference for all New Zealanders.

    About this role

    We are looking for a Senior Technical Architect - Identity and Access Management

    Part of this role, you will be responsible for :

  • Working on large NZ Education sector wide projects which will make a real difference in children and young people's lives by improving interactions between teachers, learners, whanau etc.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring for teams in the technology domain of identity and access management.
  • Define best practice and standards relating to the Identity and Access Management technical domain.
  • Working with teams to design functional technology solutions.
  • About you

    You will bring a range of skills and experience in the following areas :

  • Prior Cloud IAM experience and working knowledge of identification management and identity federation.
  • A working knowledge of a broad range of technologies and tools.
  • Experience in designing solutions for complex business and technical environments in a senior technical role.
  • Expert knowledge of the design of solutions using enterprise patterns, system patterns, development patterns, and current enterprise technologies.
  • Ability to conduct and direct research into ICT issues and products as required.
  • Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and flexibly.
  • Openness to diverse perspective and include.
  • The ability to work within large and complex environments and dealing with ambiguity.
  • The ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
