  • Our client is a successful retail cooperative with a well-established business and a strong reputation within the New Zealand retail market.

    They provide purchasing and retail services for independent retailers across a range of categories including flooring, footwear, apparel and giftware to name a few.

    This structure has allowed them to create wealth for their members who are then able to retain their independence within a highly competitive retail market.

    Now they are seeking a results orientated Relationship Manager with exceptional relationship and communication skills and a hunger to grow the business! Working across the categories you will be responsible for providing a link between members and suppliers.

    Ensuring the ongoing success of the cooperative by using your knowledge and understanding of how to drive profitability for your members and suppliers within the retail environment will be the key to your success.

    You will be leading a team of two independent sales representatives, driving new business development, growing the existing base and developing existing local supplier relationships as well as building new.

    You will play a key role in the implementation of the marketing strategy ensuring it is relevant and on target for your members.

    Working with an assistant you will be organising expos, conferences and events. As part of the Senior Management Team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall strategic direction of the business.

    For this role, we are seeking someone with strong relationship and communication skills and the ability to build rapport with independent retailers and suppliers.

    This role will suit someone who is constantly on the lookout for new opportunities and is hungry to grow the business. You will be commercially savvy and ideally have an understanding of cooperative or franchise models within the retail environment.
