An exciting and rewarding opportunity is currently available within the Choices NZ team as a Facilitator located in Gisborne.

As a Facilitator , you will be responsible for helping and coaching people with disabilities or long-term health conditions to gain and maintain employment, support young people in the transition from school process, and provide assistance and advice to people receiving ACC support to live independently.

This role would suit someone who is genuinely passionate about working in the disability sector, and the drive to provide coaching services to those in our community, with the ability to :

  • build strong and trusting relationships with those we support, their families and friends, and the wider community,
  • understand and create a picture of the individual life journey and goals,
  • identify local, natural and funded community support,
  • encourage the learning of new skills, and grow someone's confidence,
  • understand and advise if someone can manage their ACC Funding, or require assistance,
  • continue to drive to establish connections, and meet desired results,
  • work together with a like-minded and achievement focused team located across NZ.
  • This position will be offered on a Fixed-Term Full-Time basis for 3-6 months (with a possibility of extension). Due to the nature of the services we provide, flexibility of working hours is essential.

    Requirements

  • Minimum Level 5 NZQA Approved Qualification
  • Empathy for others, and a passion to support people with a disability or health need is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to identify new opportunities, and the initiative to develop effective relationships with employers, and community support networks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to support engagement, rapport building, and advocacy.
  • Ability to self-direct, motivate and work independently.
  • Resilience to continue to establish desired outcomes.
  • Clean NZ Full Drivers License, and the ability to travel as required.
