About the role Te kaupapa

There is a growing demand for trainedBarbers and to meet this demand WelTec offers a training pathway for students wantingto explore industry skills.

Academic quality is the cornerstone ofour Centre and as such we are seeking to appoint a Barbering tutor withexcellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation whowants to develop themselves as an academic educator and pass on their barberingskills.

This is a part-time role.

Key Accountabilities (Ngā takohanga matua)

  • Course delivery, assessment and moderation
  • Management of resources relating to the learning processes
  • Working as a member of an academic team
  • You will be supported in this by anexperienced team of barbering educators.

    Experience and Qualifications

    You will have at least 7 years’experience in barbering and ideally a National Certificate in Barbering orHairdressing Practice or equivalent.

    Have established contacts within theprofession, demonstrated planning and organisational ability and an ability torelate to youth.

    While preference will be given to applicants holding atertiary teaching qualification, applications from experienced barbers with thedesire to undertake study towards a teaching qualification will be considered.
