Registered Nurse - Renal Unit

The Dialysis Unit supports Renal Replacement Therapy (Dialysis) from Waitaki to Bluff and through to Central Otago. It encompasses Acute and Home Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis.
The unit’s focus is to provide home haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis training, home, and clinic-based support, throughout the SDHB region in haemo and peritoneal dialysis.
The Dunedin Dialysis Unit (Renal Service) is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Registered Nurse to join the community-based Home Haemodialysis (HHD) team in DUNEDIN on a permanent part-time basis.
This position requires a high degree of self-knowledge, awareness, adaptability, flexibility, the availability to travel throughout the SDHB region as required, and to be able to work out of town, throughout the region, for periods of time, when needed.

The successful candidate will be working in collaboration with and alongside a well-established, very effective and experienced team of nurses who provide for the HHD service.
We are now seeking an additional Registered Nurse to join this team, preferably with recent experience of working in haemodialysis but is not essential as a full orientation and training programme will be provided for the successful candidate.

Proven computer literacy skills are essential. You will have demonstrated experience in quality processes with a strong commitment to best practice.
To be successful you will be a personable and highly flexible and adaptable team member. Able to demonstrate your capacity to work in a high output area, using your initiative and demonstrating both the ability to practice autonomously as well as collaboratively, with proven professional responsibility.
You will have your own vehicle and hold a full driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
The rostered hours of work are Mondays to Fridays, and additional weekend hours as required.
