  • In this role you will be part of a small team responsible foroptimising log breakdown, sawing and grading processes and product yieldsacross the Mill;
  • including maintaining scanning and optimising systems,evaluating performance, analysing data, recommending options and monitoringplant performance so the site runs at optimal capability.

    It involves workingright across the Mill with maintenance and operational teams and would suit aperson who is highly motivated, both analytical and practical, and has aninquisitive challenging mind who will thrive in a collaborative performance-basedenvironment.

    We are looking for :

  • A confident decision maker and communicator
  • Excellent attention to detail & problem solving skills
  • The ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Ability to simplify complex information and communicate to non-technical staff
  • Previous experience in a role focused on driving process optimisation (preferably)
  • Degree qualified ideally within a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths field or alternately possessing in depth knowledge of timber grading and processing operations.
  • Exposure to wood processing is desirable however other manufacturing environments will be considered.
  • Advanced computer skills, in particular PLC programming are advantageous.
  • Solid database & SQL programming skills
  • This role reports to the Technical Manger and isn’t just abouttechnical ability; it’s also about being able to deal with a wide range ofpeople and confidently negotiate and influence outcomes in order to driveoptimal results through production output.

    Youwill be a lateral thinker, numerically strong, possess excellent planningskills and be someone capable of proactively dealing with change.
